New Competition for 2009
Clothes Show Live, yougo and The Independent asked young bloggers to prove their abilities by posting a 200-word blog on a topic of their choice. We were looking for someone feisty with a point to make and an eloquent style of blogging. Is there an environmental price to pay for affordable fashion? Is celebrity culture having a bad effect on young people in Britain, or is it inspiring? Perhaps you just want to whinge about Cheryl's gear on last weekend's X-Factor. Whatever it is, it had to be relevant. Show that you’re a trendsetter. Capture the imagination. Get it off your chest and get yourself heard. You've only got 200 words, so make them count. Entrants were judged on both their quality of writing and their ability to create a debate.
The winning blog has been posted on the student pages of The Independent. The prize also includes work experience at yougo, entry to Clothes Show Live 2009 and the chance to become an official blogger for clothesshowlive.com
The award ceremony took place on Wednesday 9 December at Clothes Show Live, crowning Katie French Young Blogger Of The Year
