Saskia Schijen was born in Krefeld, Germany. After finishing her Bachelor degree at the Amsterdam Fashion Insitute in 2007 she moved to London to work for a Swedish label.

In 2011 Saskia Schijen graduated from MA Womenswear course at the Royal College of Art. Her collection was inspired by the early and later work of Wolfgang Tillmans and featured denim with graphic wash and dye effects as well as luxury sportswear.
