Peter Andre
Peter Andre will be at Clothes Show Live on Friday and Saturday before 2pm only on Stand LX105
Peter Andre, 39, is an accomplished worldwide media star known for his successful music and television career. Peter hit a peak in his music career during the 1990s when he became the sixth highest selling artist in the UK. He had numerous number one hit singles, two number one albums and toured all over the world collecting a multitude of national and international awards along the way. His chart success led to major tours throughout the UK, Europe, Asia and Australia. It was while touring that Peter achieved one of his life-long dreams to perform at Wembley Arena, which he accomplished at a sell-out concert in the summer of 1997.
Since being offered a record deal live on air on Australia's 'New Faces' TV show at the age of 16, Peter's career has been like a rollercoaster ride. Peter had his first hit in Australia with ‘Gimme A Little Sign’ at the age of 19. In the following year, Peter received numerous national awards in Australia for outstanding musical achievements and was subsequently honoured with having the highest selling record of the decade.
At the age of 23, Peter was chosen to be a special guest performer for the Madonna and the Bobby Brown concert tours. He became the first Australian artist to have had a single debut in the UK singles chart at number one. Then followed three top five hits including two further number one singles and a total of eleven top ten hits worldwide. His most successful single was ‘Mysterious Girl’ which sold over two million copies. Peter’s next single ‘I Feel You’ also entered the charts at number one and following on from this came his first UK album, ‘Natural,’ which also debuted at number one.
2004 was the year that changed the path of Peter Andre’s career and took him to the next level. After a successful stint on ITV1’s ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here’ in 2004, audiences were reminded of Peter’s charm and fun personality. During this time Peter also met Katie Price, the mother of his two children and the woman who he was married to for over three years. During their five year relationship Peter and Katie were followed closely by camera crews to create reality TV shows together. The first of these shows was the intriguing fly-on-the-wall documentary, ‘When Jordan Met Peter’, which aired in 2004 on ITV1. This revealed not only the secrets behind the pair’s very separate careers, but also the development of their personal relationship together. This was followed by ‘Jordan and Peter: Laid Bare,’ which screened on ITV1 and ITV2 in January 2005, with the next series named ‘Marriage and Mayhem’, also appearing on both channels. Katie and Peter’s third, fourth and fifth series of their reality TV show called ‘Katie and Peter: The Next Chapter’ aired in April 2007, March 2008 and September 2008 respectively on ITV2. Katie and Peter have also invited other celebrities to join them for a chat while filming ‘Katie & Peter: Unleashed’ – their own chat show that aired in autumn 2007. The last of their reality TV series together was ‘Katie and Peter: The Next Chapter Stateside.’ This was filmed whilst Peter was completing his eagerly awaited new album, ‘Revelations’, which reached number three in the UK charts.
Even while busy with his TV work, his passion for music was always there. Peter released his album ‘The Long Road Back’ in 2004, accompanied by a sell-out arena tour and a number one hit. In 2005 Peter focused on writing and recording new material, both here in the UK and in America, also performing several intimate gigs around the country as well as some festival appearances.
Peter released his autobiography in September 2006 and entered into the ‘Top Five Bestsellers’ list. For the three weeks following the release of the book, Peter embarked on a successful book tour which took him around the country. In 2008, Peter focused on his music again by writing some new material for his upcoming album. On a personal note, 2008 saw Peter’s best accomplishment when he was awarded ‘Dad of the Year’ 2008.
2009 had been another busy and productive year for Peter as he was in LA writing and recording songs for his album that was released in September 2009. The first single of his long awaited new album was ‘Behind Closed Doors.’ The single had its first airing exclusive to the Chris Moyles breakfast show on BBC Radio 1 and charted at number four in the UK Charts. In October 2009 Peter followed his album success with a number selling perfume ‘Unconditional.’ As well as focusing on his music Peter had also taken time out to run the Flora London Marathon on behalf of the NSPCC for which he became an ambassador in 2006 - he raised many thousands of pounds for the charity to help towards the good work that they do protecting children.
On 11th May 2009, a statement was released explaining that after three and a half years of marriage Peter Andre and Katie Price were separating. Obviously this was a difficult time for Peter but with a strong focus on his family and career Peter came out on top. Capturing this time and his further rise to success Peter starred in a one-off ITV2 special called ‘Going It Alone’, which reached two million viewers.
2010 saw Peter go further to the forefront of the media agenda with a massive sellout thirty-eight date theatre tour, ‘Revelation,’ a number two selling book ‘My World,’ a top selling aftershave ‘Conditional’ and a perfume ‘Mysterious Girl’, which went straight to number one in the Perfume Charts. Peter also continued with his smash hit reality show on ITV2 which chronicled his success as well as presenting shows for ‘This Morning,’ ‘The Brit Awards,’ ‘The 5oClock Show’ and fronting as Team Captain on the ITV1 Saturday night show ‘Odd One In.’ In June 2010, Peter again became ‘Dad of the Year’ 2010, proving how much the nation loves and respects him as a Father and Celebrity.
Following on from his smash hit album ‘Revelation,’ October 2010 saw Peter set the charts alight with his first single ‘Defender’ off of his seventh studio album ‘Accelerate.’ ‘Defender’ was a hit and ‘Accelerate’ stormed the charts debuting in the Top Ten of the UK Album Charts. Teaming up with music royalty for this album, the response from fans and critics has been fantastic with Music Week claiming that ‘Accelerate is an album which delivers in spades.’ Peter drew 2010 to a close by embarking on a National Arena Tour, ‘Accelerate’, which was a fantastic success. Peter’s sell-out UK Arena Tour included selling out London’s 02 Arena and these performances meant that in 2010 Pete was named ‘Britain’s Hardest Working Singer’ by PR’s after performing to almost 100,000 fans.
2011 was extremely busy for Peter, after signing a fantastic new deal with ITV last year, he has just finished another series of his newly named reality series, ‘Peter Andre: My Life’, which hits more than one million viewers per week. His success is even more evident as he was nominated for a ‘National Television Award.’ His TV career is going from strength to strength as this year also saw him launch a new show called ‘Here2Help’, which saw him travel around the country helping members of the public. Peter again proved his popularity in presenting with another stint backstage at ‘The Brits,’ ‘The MOBO,’ as well as presenting on ‘This Morning’, he also returned as one of the Team Captains on the Saturday night primetime show ‘Odd One In’. Peter also re-visited ITV1’s ‘I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here’ at
the end of 2011 which was a great experience for Peter. Musically 2011 saw Peter embark on a large international tour where he took to the stage in Spain, Dubai and Egypt as well as the UK.
Of course when Peter is not working he loves nothing more than spending time with his children, Peter was crowned ‘Dad of the Year’ for the second time in 2011 proving how much the nation loves and respects him both as a Father and Celebrity. At the end of 2011 Peter released two very successful selling Children’s books, ‘A New Day At School’ and ‘The Happy Birthday Party’, which are published by Ladybird books. Peter also launched the first of many business ventures by opening up his very own Coffee Shop in November 2011 named the ‘New York Coffee Club’, which is situated near his home in West Sussex. On top of this, he had another top-selling 2012 Peter Andre Calendar out in the shops for the New Year.
2012 sees Peter Andre being as busy as ever. Launching a new series of his ever-popular reality show ‘Peter Andre: My Life’ on ITV2, Peter’s viewing figures average well over one-million viewers weekly – this is Peter’s second series of ‘Peter Andre: My Life’ and sixth reality TV series in total which shows Peter’s longevity and popularity amongst the British public. Summer 2012 also saw Peter launch ‘Peter Andre’s Bad Boyfriend Club’ on ITV2 which followed Peter giving relationship advice to ‘bad boyfriends’ whilst they battled it out to win a holiday of a lifetime. To prove and portray Peter’s popularity in the television industry, Peter won a coveted industry TRIC (Television, Radio, Industries Club) award – ‘Digital TV Personality’ in March 2012 – which he was delighted to have as such a high-profile recognition of his long standing television career.
2012 has also seen Peter continuing his successful music career – he has been back in the studio recording his new album to be released this month (October 2012) titled ‘Angels & Demons’. The end of the year will also see Peter embark on a 31-date sell-out Arena Tour named ‘Up Close and Personal’ - this will see Peter touring the UK and see him playing live to thousands of his fans once again.
Business-wise Peter has been involved with a number of projects this year including teaming up with international tanning brand Fake Bake to launch their new product ‘Fake Bake Sport’ – in conjunction with this Peter also supported the Fake Bake ‘Save Your Skin’ Campaign which promotes education and awareness of skin safety and the dangers of sunbeds. Peter has also been involved with other great brands in 2012 including Disney, Rocky and SodaStream whilst also expanding the ‘New York Coffee Club’ empire by launching his second store in Brighton in August 2012.
Peter remains highly involved with his charity commitments this year. 2012 has seen Peter being heavily involved with the Zanzibar based charity, HIPZ – after he visited Zanzibar himself Peter is committed to fundraising for this charity which remains very close to his heart and even appeared on ‘Celebrity Deal Or No Deal’ on Channel 4 in May 2012 and is set to appear on ‘Million Pound Drop’ this month (October 2012) to raise much needed funds for this charity.
Peter’s brilliant fashion sense and recognized style in the media has now led to a new venture for Peter in bringing out his very own clothing collection. With his debut collection launched in Summer 2012 which included the much awaited shirt-collection alongside edgy t-shirt designs both for men and three super-cute designs for children. Gemma has also become a regular on ITV1’s ‘This Morning’ where she regularly presents a host of fashion and cookery slots. One of her most recent appearances even scored the highest ratings of the entire show, firmly cementing her as part of the ever loved ITV Family!
More recently, Gemma has been instrumental in designing her very own plus size clothing range – ‘Gemma Collins’ Collection’. Drawing on her own experiences of struggling to find flattering and fashionable clothing in anything bigger than a size 14, Gemma set about designing her very own debut plus-size clothing collection and the Gemma Collins’ Collection was born! Already proving to be as fabulous and popular as she is, Gemma Collins’ Collection offers a huge variety of stunning pieces which include maxi dresses, tops, blazer jackets, waterfall cardigans, and wrap dresses that the country went mad for when Gemma was seen in one on ITV’s This Morning back in March 2012. Gemma’s collection is flattering for the plus-size woman who wants to be stylish, fashionable and for those who are proud to show off their curves!
Gemma is a girl who is never afraid to speak her mind - straight talking, outspoken and confident the future is looking very bright for Gemma Collins!
