Fashion Career Seminars

Fashion Seminars at Clothes Show Live

The fashion career seminars were an essential part of out  eductaion groups day at Clothes Show Live this year.

Led by British Fashion commentator and MBE Caryn Franklin. Students will heard all about the career journey of leading fashion and beauty experts. From stylists to editors; designers to buyers, each session offered valuable insight into the breath of careers on offer for young creatives.

We had four fantastic and insightful seminars available for education groups to benefit from these included:

Design, Trend & Product (13+)

This presentation allowed students to see some of the behind the scenes work in the fashion industry, where they discovered the processes from design to product and gained advice on finding work experience, top tips on becoming a budding designer and the highs and lows about working in fashion.

Let’s Talk: Fashion & Body Confidence (13+)

Brand new for 2014s show, students were able to take part in a body confidence seminar hosted by a panel of media insiders and their peers. This new addition to the seminar program lived up to it's promise to be an open discussion and support for students' Personal and Social Education.

Planning Your Career (13+)

This seminar offered a unique opportunity for students to find out more about the ever expanding range of creative roles within the fashion industry.

Students gained insider knowledge and advice on the best subject options to consider for GCSE and different pathways after leaving school including university courses and information on apprenticeships.

Fashion Skills Matchmaker (15+)

Which fashion role is right for you? From designer to merchandiser, marketer to PR. Students learned how to transfer a passion into a future career.

Company experts revealed what they look for in a creative candidate and offered the chance to discuss with them which job roles are best suited to them.

Please see a biog of all of the industry experts who featured in our seminars below.
