Frankie Says Shop in association with Suzuki

It is always good to have a fashion inspiration before the weekend, so this morning when I was putting a little outfit together, I had a vision of the 50’s. There is much too choose from this era, Wiggle style dresses, Prom skirts, Pretty prints, Rockabilly, Hepburn and Monroe. I have gone for a pupil from Rydell High with this pencil skirt and vintage top. Warehouse have the best material for the pencil length and I like the stripe pattern with the flash of colour. The accessorizes today are key and I have gone all kitsch with my bow hair band and initial badge. Skools out!

If you want some statement knitwear, vintage is the way to go. You can get some really crazy prints and fabrics to smash up a boring outfit. They are easy to find on EBay and at vintage fairs. Today’s fluffy jumper was purchased at Clothes Show and reminds me of a jumper I had in my childhood, strange how some fashion stays with you. The mint green, is another colour on my radar for this summer and I like the way it works with the purple. Easy to wear but fashion effect. Plus, I could not resist adding my favourite Tatty Devine necklace, "Frankie Says Shop" in sparkles!

Today I am taking some time to celebrate a fashion savoir. The Belt.  It has the power to give you the body shape you were meant to be, as well as amp up your outfit. You see this dress; it is nice enough, in a stylish practical way. However, it becomes much better with the clincher belt, giving a more bespoke fit and adding more colour. I do have a belt collection to be proud of, vast in colours and widths, but sometimes I forget that every collection needs a standard black one.

What is going on, why is it getting colder?  I really should be getting together my Spring/Summer wardrobe, but instead I am being forced back to Winter Whites. There is even talk of snow! This better mean a no work, snow day, otherwise I am not interested. Luckily, white on white is quite fabulous, my look today is made up of this Darimeya dress; which is very pretty, but actually a bit short. I never like to throw anything away, so I have added a silk skirt, which gives me a better hemline and lovely mix of textures.

Meeting up with the girls can lead to many things, hearing some tasty gossip, over indulgence in food and drink and mini shopping sprees. However, it can also be helpful reminder of what you have living at the back of your wardrobe. A meet up from this weekend re-inspired my love of the bird print. One of my oldest BFF’s was looking very chic with her navy, bird print dress and it has been my motivation for today’s outfit. I had forgotten about this pretty, pink bird cardigan from H&M and I have added more pastel pink with my silk shirt, making it very Spring/Summer 2012!

With Valentines Day rearing its romantic head love is certainly in the air for me. I’ve indulged with ‘I Love Blueberry & Smoothie’ and I’ve fallen head over heels for it! It smells gorgeous and not only makes me smell lush, but it even makes the whole flat smell like blueberry goodness after I’ve used it. Hopefully Mr.Pia will also be falling head over heels when he smells it on me!
Today I’m rocking my Dr Denim acid washed jeans. Dr Denim does the comfiest jeans at a reasonable price and they have a good selection too. I’ve also got a gorgeous re worked vintage silk shirt from Blue Rinse which was an absolute steal! Silk does not come cheap these days so I’m really pleased with it. Another vintage treasure is my handbag… it’s got the softest leather and the detail is amazing. I’m an absolute handbag fiend so finding this little beaute was a momentous day for me!
Anymore layers please

I am wearing so many layers today, is actually quite ridiculous. Do not tell anyone, but I have a full under-outfit, which is similar to that of a scuba diver, but let us get back to the fashion bit should we? I have noticed in the past few months, I have been going down a ‘grunge’ route maybe it is the flats boots, the January blues or perhaps I am a wannabe Olsen twin. Either way, I am liking it and the more items of clothing, I add the better my outfit gets. So after the scuba layer, I have dressed up with grey long maxi, (not just for summer) and a pretty black jumper.
