Clothes Show Live went on the search for a budding fashion designer to design a dress that their style icon could wear to a red carpet event. 

Winner 2011: Charlotte Wood, 18, from Cleveland, North Yorkshire (right with Karl Willett)

Charlotte designed a floor length black ball gown with lace detailing on the back. Charlotte reveals where she got the inspiration for her dress from: “I saw a gothic style pattern in a church window and thought it would look striking on the back of a red carpet dress. I could see a celebrity wearing this dress to a glitzy ceremony as the lace detailing is sophisticated and slick.” Charlotte has won £1,000 prize money, work experience with a top British fashion designer and tickets to next year’s show.
