How to Turn a Simple Square Scarf into an Elegant Evening Backless Top

Step 1:

Pencil skirts are going to be everywhere this winter and Peplum waist pencil skirts; with that little ruffle around swinging around the hips will be out in force.  Championed by Chanel couture as well as being shown by the likes of Mary Katrantzou, who in my eyes can do no wrong, it's a twist on the flattering fitted shape of the pencil skirt adding a touch of girlish structure.

Like most people right now, I love Peter Pan Collars. They can style up a basic tee or vest instantly and being a bit skint this month, I decided I would make one myself.

You will need:

  • Cotton Material
  • Needle and Thread
  • Scissors
  • A basic t-shirt or vest.

First thing I did was to pop along to my local Oxfam shop, and have a good rummage through their selection of pillow cases and pieces of cotton material. I came home with a white pillow case and a cute floral one for 99p, what a bargain.
